Food & Wine Pairings: Italian Soave

October 3rd, 2014

This week, courtesy of the New York Times, we take a look at Italian Soave and a melon dish to accompany. [level-members]

The Times’ tasting of Soave includes some great bargains that drink fantastically. The complete listing can be found here and is headlined by Stefanini Soave Superiore Classico Monte di Fice 2012. It’s $13 and the Times views it as “Crisp, pure and tight-grained, with lingering flavors of minerals, nuts, citrus and herbs.” It’s also one of the lowest-priced wines on the list.

To pair, give this Savory Melon Tartare a try. You’ll find the recipe here and a discussion of the dish and how it pairs with Soave here.
