The New York Times begins a point/counterpoint debate about wine in popular culture (as depicted on TV); and the Times features Rioja in its wine course. [level-members]

If you’re a fan of the popular TV shows Scandal or The Good Wife, you’ve probably cheered the frequent cameo roles that a glass of red wine often plays in both. Eric Asimov dives “inside the glass” to look at what this symbolic use of wine (and spirits) means. Not everyone agrees with his assessment.
