More weather-related bad news from out west and Italy. Better news from the middle of the country. Plus a grape that may help sustain the industry through climate change. And wineries of the future. [level-members]

Heat, mildew, rain and rot. Things ain’t easy for the harvest out west. Wines and Vines and the Press Democrat both have stories. The weather’s not helping things in Italy either.

On a brighter note, things are looking up for Minnesota’s wine industry. Yes, that Minnesota.

Perhaps they’ve planted “Tardif,” a grape that some think may save us from the ravages of global warming.
