More bad wine industry news from California and France. And some semi-comic and completely unfunny grape and wine thievery. [level-members]
Now we wait for the other shoe to drop. Will the vineyards that the fire spared produce wines tainted by smoke from those fires?
France is set to make less wine this year than in any year since the 1950s. A 19% drop is enormous. And yet, amidst all the bad news from around the globe, there is a bright spot in Burgundy. Less good is the news from Bordeaux, where the damaged harvest has led to some desprerate measures.
Not exactly good news, but semi-comic relief from an enterprising truck driver in France. (And his clueless parents …)
