Jancis Robinson’s recent post on the history of Greek wine is a long read, but certainly worth a skim if not a full-on study session. (Though it’s pretty great to read closely, as well.) The modern history – the financial crisis, why Greece does not come to mind as a wine-producing country – is compelling stuff.

And she makes recommendations for wines to try if you’re just beginning to explore what Greek wine has to offer. You can read the article here. It’s one of the “free for all” articles on her paywall site.
