Amazon Hits Texas

April 15th, 2013

Online wine sales just got broader, as Amazon has added Texas to its list of wine states.[level-members] They now have Texas-made wines and also wines that are available for shipping to the Lone Star State. Started in the past two weeks, the Texas-based labels include Becker Vineyards, Llano Estacado and Bell Springs.

Texas is the 17th state now included in Amazon’s wine program. Shipping or all destinations is a flat-rate $9.99 for 6 bottles. The site allows you to shop by type (varietal for reds and whites, “other” for items like rosé, sparkling and dessert wines), by region and, most interestingly, by pairings – wines to go with fish, meat, poultry, even cheese.
