You might think that offering up a “wine for beginners” course would be a waste of your time – you want established and enthusiastic wine consumers as the staple of your shop. And yet, you might find that a beginners guide is exactly what your customers are clamoring for. [level-members]

Well, perhaps not clamoring. There are a great may people who prefer not to advertise their own lack of expertise. For them, you’ll have more success if you offer your intro series in a manner that allows them to consume it more privately – online videos or other posts.

And don’t forget that the most important knowledge that you can give wine consumers just starting on their journey is that the snobbishness and pretension are completely optional. Most of the wine world quaffs happily away, comfortable in their own skins.
