Do wine and politics mix?
Not long ago, a plumber ran an ad in our local paper in which he espoused some pretty hard-core views on gun control. (He was against.) When I read the ad, I wondered what would make someone potentially alienate a significant portion of their potential customers? [level-members]
That came to mind this past week when I saw this article about wineries supporting gay marriage.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Do wine and politics mix? Wine is, after all, an intensely personal choice in the a way similar to many of these cultural, political and religious issues are.
Is it better to wear your passion on your sleeve, or only quietly push your personal beliefs?
I’d love to hear your answers to the that question both for wine and those bigger issues in life. (Then again, if your priorities are in line, what could be bigger than wine?)
