September 18th, 2014

It’s the restaurant issue from Bon Appetit this time around. The cover promises to reveal “the best thing I have ever eaten in America” and BA’s dish of the year, along with their picks for best new restaurants. Also, the New York Times travels to central Washington state. [level-members]

One restaurant trend Bon App has uncovered is the recycling of empty booze bottles as water carafes. Maybe remind your best customers of the fringe benefits of their purchases?

A piece on top new cocktail bars mentions the Sun Viking (aquavit), retro concoctions like Long Island Iced Tea, margaritas and all things tequila, and Fernet Branca, the “intensely bitter Italian digestif.

In the New York Times this morning, the Travel section discovers how, “A Wine Region Flourishes in Central Washington.” Among the wines and wineries they explore are cabernet franc, pinot, chardonnay, riesling and gewürztraminer from places like Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards, Nefarious Cellars, Tunnel Hill Winery.
