As we head from summer into fall, we love recipes that make use of the last of summer’s bounty in more savory recipes than we might try in the summer. Here’s one. [level-members]
This squash frittata from Southern Living and found on MyRecipes.com is a great example of summer recipes that rely on produce that, depending on where you live, should still be around at this time of year.
Some nice wines to pair with this, depending on how your tastes run, include
- Rieslings can work well. A bit of sweetness and acidity helps
- Sauvignon blanc is another excellent bet.
- For a red, try something light and slightly chilled – Zweigelt is a favorite, pinot noir, and Lambrusco work, too. Grenache/garnacha is another good choice as is Cinsaut.
Enjoy!
