Wine Shop Delivery and Other Competitive Advantages

We’ve written in the past about Drizly and other businesses that are beginning to systematize on-demand delivery in local markets. If you’re not offering delivery, you should reconsider. [level-members]

Drizly’s most recent expansion is into the Minneapolis twin-cities area. This is their 13th metropolitan region, so they’re not just sticking to the biggest of the big cities. If you’re in a rural or perhaps even an exurban area, you’re probably safe for the foreseeable future. But even the suburbs are squarely in the crosshairs of these businesses.

In other words, be proactive in the value you add to your wine shop customers. Make it easy and enjoyable for them to shop with you. Don’t rely on price alone, or even the convenience of your abundant off-street parking. As Drizly is showing, even that may not matter much any more.
