Here’s a simple, delicious take on Mussels in White Wine from Ina Garten. The recipe article itself suggests Sauvignon Blanc as a pairing, which is a natural – and excellent – choice. You might also consider suggesting a crisp Pinot Grigio, a Chablis or French-style Chardonnay, an Alsatian Riesling, or a Picpoul de Pinet.

If you take the route common in Southern France of including sausage in your preparation, a rosé or light red can be an excellent choice, as well.
